Sand Crab Fly – Permit, Bonefish and Saltwater Crab Pattern
A compact, lively crab imitation designed for permit, bonefish and other saltwater flats species.
Description
Capt. Ken’s Sand Crab Fly is a smaller crab pattern with plenty of movement in the water. At approximately the size of a quarter, it offers a compact profile that can be an excellent choice when fish are feeding on small crabs along the flats.
The pattern is tied on a strong #2 saltwater hook and features a monofilament weed guard to help reduce snags when fishing over grass, sand and other shallow-water structure.
Why Fish the Sand Crab?
Crabs are an important food source for redfish, permit and bonefish. This pattern provides a small, realistic-looking profile with movement that can help attract attention without presenting an oversized imitation.
