This is Capt. Ken's Green Drake Cripple. (Eastern green Drake) This style of fly has been a staple at at Baxter House Outfitters for more than 2 decades. All of our guides use this fly for every Mayfly hatch.  Tied on #10 Standard Dry Fly hook. Smaller than the natural insect but this size produces more strikes.

This pattern imitates 3 scenarios that Trout key in on. The vulnerable stage of an insects transition from it nymphal stage to adult stage, The scenario of an insect that died during or shortly after emergence and the spinner stage of a Mayfly. This is a fly that triggers an immediate feeding response from Trout. During active hatches, Upper Delaware Trout most always choose this pattern over the live naturals.
